I've been recommending this book to friends and family that have been thinking about switching to the mac based solely on my reading of another Pogue book, OS X: The missing Manual. I figured I ought to actually read this to see if I was giving good advice. I think I was. Pogue's text is clear and while he tends to oversimplify, that probably isn't a problem given the target audience.
